Heart Awareness

Great article on how Chiropractic Care benefits heart function.
Something to consider.

“Research into the effects of chiropractic care has pre-dominantly focused on back pain, neck pain and headaches. As a health discipline, chiropractic did not start as a treatment for these conditions. Chiropractic goal was far more holistic, believing that by improving spinal health, all systems of the body would benefit and improvements in overall health would be achieved. This particular study looks outside the effects of chiropractic heart function. The theory is that chiropractic adjustments to correct function should have a positive influence on the organs that the nerves supply (e.g. heart.) Ninety-six chiropractors each had 10 patients who met the studies inclusion criteria. Eight subjects were analysis, and two additional patients were followed for a four-week period with two measures recorded per week. Significant changes were seen in the heart function of the patients and aspects of heart function were affected. Patient heart rates were reduced significantly in the short term; and certain aspects of heart function, such as total power, maintained changes even after four weeks. This study supports the theory that chiropractic care does have an influence on heart function. Further basic research should be conducted to develop models of how improvements in spinal health influence the function of different organs, organ systems and overall health.”
