Why Diets Fail

go back your going the wrong way

  • A diet is unnatural. Animals don’t diet. A diet tells the brain that there is a lack of food, so it will lower the metabolism to hang on to what you’ve got and help you store fat for survival. Each repeated diet makes the body store even more reserve energy (fat) because now it has proof that food is scarce.
  • A key to weight loss is to eat the right food frequently. Not just any food, food that can nourish and satisfy the need for vitamins, minerals and enzymes. Don’t skip meals.
  • Visualize your Healthy weight—not being “model thin”. Focus on being healthy first.
  • Yo-Yo dieting is unhealthy and self-sabotaging. Keeping the weight off is the key to success.
  • Binge eating is primarily based on nutrient deficiency and/or emotional triggers. After binging, then the feelings of guilt and worthlessness get repeated and then we eat for comfort.
  • Exercise consistency is more important than marathons. If you are not already exercising, don’t overdo it! build up slowly without injury.
  • Avoid artificial sweeteners; aspartame, splenda, sweet-n-low are poison to the body. All of these synthetic sweeteners are made from toxic chemicals that cause cancer, degeneration of brain and nerves and endocrine imbalance.
  • Avoid fast foods: Fast Foods and junk foods are laced with chemicals that induce over consumption. The MSG compounds weaken and destroy the hypothalamus in the brain. This gland controls hunger and thirst as well as body temperature. It is the master control gland for endocrine system. It works in a negative feedback loop with the pituitary and adrenal glands. The more stress, the more cravings, which lead to more stress. A vicious circle.
  • Avoid MSG and other free glutamates: Processed foods are packed with MSG and glutamates which cause free radicals to form, which destroy insulin producing beta cells in the pancreas.
  • Go slow, fast weight loss is unhealthy. It will come back with a vengeance because we go back to eating the way we did before the crash diet. Go slow-change your food habits. Give it time for the body to make the changes necessary to sustain good health.
